Hello! I, like many of you guys have come here for support. I quit cold turkey five days ago. I have chewed for 13 years-- started when playing baseball in high school. I dont think my body knows what to do with itself without nicotine... the worst is after a meal, when driving, or when having a beer. I literally have been getting night sweats, digestive issues and I become irritable. I hope this is normal lol. My girlfriend broke down and told me she is terrified because she is getting repulsed by my chewing. I told her I was 'cutting back'-- many times. I also know that I need to do this for myself, my health and my future well being. I think it is badass there is a support forum like this. Never would I have imagined the chewing community was so vast! (probably because its just sooo damn good : )) Anyways, that is my cheesedick intro. Tomorrow is another day. And a friday-- which means there will be beer. Beer without chew. Fuck. |

Hi Charlie. You're making the right decision, let's just make sure you're making it for the right reason. You have to quit because you want to be quit. End of thought. Not for your girl and not for your health. But because you're sick of being a slave to a chopped up weed in a can. All the physical and emotional things you listed are a normal part of an early quit. Quitting sucks until it doesn't. Make sure you remember how this feels so you never repeat it again. Anybody who has been part of this community for more than a few months has seen somewhere between a dozen and several hundred quits ruined by beer. People make stupid, regrettable decisions when they drink. Most anybody here will tell you to take a month off of drinking when you start your quit. And please don't romanticize the weed. It was trying to kill you. You need to learn to hate it. If it sounds like I'm being blunt, it's because hundreds of people write an intro each month, and many are not serious about quitting. Yours has failure written all over it. So here's what you do: get pissed off at me, and get serious about your quit. And follow every piece of advice you get here. Find the March '17 quit group. Make a promise to stay quit by posting roll, and keep your promise. Make the same promise every single day. If you go all in here, you will stay quit. That's guaranteed. It's not easy, but nothing worth doing is easy. The freedom on the other side is worth the price. |

What this Bad Ass Quitter ^^^ said! 100% truth! Charlie, if you are serious about quitting nicotine this is the place to learn how. RDB and any other BAQ who reads your intro is going to be able to tell that you haven't read up on all the quit lore on KTC... Start at the Welcome Center and read everything, and then keep reading. KTC will help you if you put in the effort to learn about addiction and nicotine in particular. Then learn the KTC quit plan, live the plan, love the plan. The plan works, but only if you buy in 100% Post roll. Promise to be nicotine free all day. Keep your word. Repeat tomorrow (if you can do day 1 nic free there is zero reasons why you cannot do day 2 nic free) Simple. Hard, but simple. |
|
I could quit all by myself if I was stranded on an island without any nicotine... Quitting the KTC way: Learn it, Live it; LOVE it! "The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me." srans | |

Evening Charlie, Noticed you were online this morning at 5:42, but no post? That generally is NOT a good sign. Sent you an email. Hopefully you'll think long and hard as to whether you want this or not. Hopefully, you'll choose wisely. Right now I wouldn't bet on it. Prove me wrong. |
