Welcome Steve. Quitting is simple, but not easy. Sounds like you've already been doing some reading around here. Bravo!! Keep it up. There is more quit wisdom here than anywhere on the planet.

Get the roll thing figured out, and post up your day 1. That is a promise not to use nicotine for today. It's a promise to yourself, your group, me, and everybody on this site. If you can make a promise, and keep your word, you will be successful.

Post roll here.

Support works by building a great quit group. Try to make sure that everyone in your group gets their name on the list every damn day.

I quit with you today! Stranger999 - day 435
My message in a bottle to FUTURE ME. It happens to also be my Intro here.

Thank you all for the encouragement and support. I've read the story of the guy who had cancer in his eye, liver, spine, hip bone, pancreas back in 2003. Wow what an eye opener what this really does to you. Today I will never go back. I want to be one of the guys who says "hey I'm on day 60...day 200...I'm 5 years clean from nicotine!" And I realize the only way I can EVER achieve that is to actually do it. I had an urge to get some today but I am not giving in. Today is the beginning of a new life for me. And I will continue to put one foot in front of the other to progress from this disgusting addiction to a lifetime of longevity and a nice smelling breath LOL

... to progress from this disgusting habit to a lifetime of longevity...
Mindset and terminology are veeeery important here.

There is something you must understand, admit, and accept...

This is NOT a habit.
This is an addiction and...
YOU... are an addict.

A most excellent job on your roll post! Now... keep stacking those up every new day.

Rock on...
Day 1... 4-17-13

Well, it's one louder isn't it? It's not ten.

The thing is, you'll never break an addiction. You, I, Stranger, ChickDip, we will all always be addicts. As ReWire said, this is a simple process, but will not be easy. You won't regret it for a second though. You're body will tell you quitting is the dumbest decision you have ever made, but it turns out, it's one of the smartest. I can tell you for a fact, you'll start to feel better fast, you'll notice very positive changes in your life, physical, emotional, everything. Quitting dip will build your confidence, just knowing that if you can do this, you can literally do anything. You'll also have your challenges, that's part of what we're here for. I'd take a punch in the face from you before I watched you put that shit in your face. Vent, scream, call me a bitch, I don't care. Stay off the nic.

Look forward to your milestones, day 10, 25, 50, hell, day 209. But never forget that you are, and always will be addicted. Quit for today, then do it again tomorrow, make that promise, share your number, do whatever you feel you have to do. Just do not let me, anyone else on this site, or yourself down. Quit every damn day.

Gotta start somewhere man, and this is the best place to do it.

Sending you my digits in PM

Gashauler - day 52 - I quit with you today, and I'll quit with you again tomorrow.

So I got some raw ginger peeled it and shredded it as a healthy substitute for the dip. It actually helped quit a bit! It gave me the burn sensation that I used to love when I put a nice fresh dip in. I don't have to spit at all and after I sacked almost all the flavor out I can chew it up and get some fiber from what's left. Good deal to me! 44 more minutes left till I'm on day 3 and keeping strong thanks to you guys. I've never been so determined as I am now.

That's awesome man. I never did get around to trying the raw ginger, but heard a lot of people say it works. Whatever you gotta do man, you're doing great so far, just keep it up.

You must change your attitude friend, because there is no such thing as a "nice fresh dip".

Learn to HATE nicotine in all it's forms, I am sure 3 people died from nicotine in the time it took me to type this.
Some of my fondest and clearest memories are peeing in places that aren't bathrooms.
