17 days into the quit now, the longest I have gone without dip since basic training. I started in 2006, with the stupid decision: "I'll try it just to see what it is like." The moment of stupidity had been leaking money from my wallet, time from my family, and possibly years off my life. I went 2 months without chew in basic training, then the day I got out put a dip right back in. I have tried multiple time to quit but didn't have the balls to make it a week. Now 17 days into my quit, I finally feel I can quit this time. I have support from my family, friends, but KILLTHECAN has really made the difference. KILLTHECAN gives me what I never had before, the knowledge of others going through and have been through what I am experiencing. In church last weekend the pastor spoke about change, to seek out those who aren't where I am now, but are where I want to be. Speaking with those who are deep in the quit not only know what I'm going through, but give me hope that it can be done. 17 days. One day at a time. |

17 days is a badass quit. Keep the vigilance and post roll, these are the days where we can get complacent! Great group of folks here who I would have been in deep trouble without. |

I like saying "congrats" to newcomers, you've made a great and life-changing decision. Just wake up each day and chose that again. Get to know the folks in your group, invest in them, it will rock your world and your quit. |

Isaac, Good work so far man. I'm glad you have been reading and learning from our experiences. Thanks for throwing yours into the mix. I'd highly encourage you to start posting roll. Best part of KTC, in my opinion, is that 24-hour accountability. Right now, nobody will stop you if you never post again. By posting roll and being a part of your quit group, you suddenly have 45 people who are quitting with you every damn day. And if you take it a step further and exchange numbers, you have people who will reach out to you when you don't get on roll or start to fade. It's easy to get quit, much harder to stay quit. You'll be in the April group (means you will hit your 100 day mark sometime in April): http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/10847546/371/#new Here are instructions for posting roll. Most people screw it up the first few times, but the important part is that you're getting your name on there. http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/1003072/1/#new Now go post roll! |

"Post roll. Post more if you want to. That's the beauty of the place: We ask you post roll. We ask you to be honest. That's all. No more. No less. Be there for your brothers and ask for help when you need it." - Wastepanel 10/6/14 "What would you do to save your own life? If you were fighting cancer today would you suffer through Chemo, surgeries, try new a therapy? change your diet, go to church? What intolerable hell would you endure to simply live. When you have thought long and hard about that, think on this. Why not apply that attitude to your quit. Suffer through the temporary discomfort of withdrawal to achieve your freedom from a slow painful demise via nicotine. Your in the ring already- fight like you mean it." - Skoal Monster 10/8/14 "Others can take away 99% of the shit in your life - the bank can take your house, truck, retirement, bitch ass ex-wife can take away your kids, cancer can take your loved ones but NO ONE can ever take your quit but YOU - rkymtnman" How Long Will I Be Quit? What this BAQ ^^^ said! Great job on being quit for 17 days and showing yourself that you can be quit! Now you need to build your accountability up. Post roll every day, and get to know your quit-group brothers and sisters. Exchange #s and have each others backs. Keep reading everything on KTC and start helping newbies in their first days. You will be adding armor to your quit when you realize people are looking up to you. PM me if you have any questions or want a #. It gets so much better... |

I could quit all by myself if I was stranded on an island without any nicotine... Quitting the KTC way: Learn it, Live it; LOVE it! "The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me." srans | |

Curious why you aren't actively posting roll? There may be someone out there that can use your help, yet you take what you need, and can't take 10 seconds out of your day to post roll? Seems selfish to me.
