10 year user, grizzly wintergreen exclusively for at least the last 5 years. Addictive personality by nature. I started the new year off right by deciding to go the month of January with no alcohol, no pot, no caffeine, in order to prepare for the quit of my life on 1/11/15, the anniversary of a family member's loss to cancer. I am so tired of hiding the shit everywhere I go, sneaking into the bathroom for a quick dip, tucking it deep into my cheeks at work and during meetings, hiding spitters behind my laptop, finding them in the car, or just walking into my bedroom with the perfume of tobacco being ever noticeable because I forgot to throw a spitter away in the morning. Day one was fine. I ate a ton of food, but otherwise I was OK. Then I went back to work on monday and I caved, bought a can, threw one in and then threw the can out, then did it again in the afternoon. Today was the same story, so tomorrow starts at day one again. I want to quit, I need to quit, and I have support outside of this forum, but I need the forum to keep me honest. I need the support of people that have seen the light and I need to be able to relate to the people in my quit group. I will be posting my day one again tomorrow. No more bullshit. Bring on the fog, Bring on the anxiety, Bring on the fear, Bring on whatever it takes so I can get back my freedom from this nasty drug. |

OK golf man... We all have addicted personalities in here.. We just put those traits to work on quiting... instead of lieing, hiding, and running from reality. Not sure about quiting on certain date, works for some but I think you should be committed to quit for you and be ready now!! Then be ready to keep your word and integrity in tack. I too am a Golfer +3, you played any golf without tobacco? PM me anytime we can talk about it. Right now let's go to work, time to be a scratch quitter..... Go to welcome center and do 1,2,3,4 Post roll, making your promise with April studs. Then start reading as much as you can the first 72 hours. |

Hey Golfman. So, posting a day one is much more than just typing in the little space on the page. Posting any day is about your thoughtful decision, agreement, and promise to yourself and everyone else here, that for the next 24 hours, you will not use nicotine in any form for any reason. Now, once you make that post in everything that it entails, you don't get to dismiss it as "Monday". You don't get to dismiss your promise at all. You do need to use the tools you get here to help you thru those "Mondays" or whatever else come along in this quit life of ours. Remaining quit is really very simple. Post roll. Keep your word. Don't put that shit in your mouth. I didn't say easy....I said simple. The hard work comes when you are about to explode, and want to do anything to get the next dip in your mouth. You promised you wouldn't, therefore you won't. We have all posted a day one. We have all felt the "fog" the "quit" the "crawling out of our skin". Regardless of your screen name and the story that goes along with you outside of this forum, you are just like me. An addict. So, come here and rage. Use the numbers you get. Don't just add them to your phone. That does NOTHING. Dial them. Talk. Fight thru it even it if means taking on the battle for 30 seconds at a time. Either way, you have several thousands of hands here that are reaching out to help you. You just have to grab one. Just one. We got you. You gotta do the work but we aren't gonna let you quit alone. I'm gonna be here quitting like a girl. Get serious. Get dirty. Get quit. |

Lady G just spelled it out for you in black and white...you need to post roll and give us your word, because if you don't, you'll just stay in your current pattern. Day 1 will become groundhog day for you. You post roll, then it's balls to the wall, whatever it takes. Trust me, you don't want to post Day 1 more than once on this site after you've posted roll. Lets do this! |

Where you at golfman... Don't shank this buddy ... And or us. I saw you on line this morning at 10:08. Steakbomb is correct about groundhog day.... Yours is negative.... Our groundhog day on this side is positive. If your a real Golfer you know nothing worth having is easy. This isn't easy but it is possible. Look at the folks here on your page alone that are willing to help you. They are professional quiters. I say step up to the tee and pound one down the middle or go sell your clubs and pick up another sport... Don't be waisting our time. Post Roll.... I will help you. |
