Hello,

My name is Larry and today is my first day without a dip since my sophomore year of high school. I started when I hit varsity baseball and never put in the effort to stop.

I think everyone remembers their first dip... Mine was (of all things) Skol apple pouches. The taste was horrific but I was buzzing off my ass so I really didn't care. I remember stepping out of my car to get gas and I felt like I was drunk. My can of choice was Grizzly Wintergreen or Cope Wintergreen, but I liked how Grizzly packed better and was also a little easier on the wallet. I couldn't tell you the last time I buzzed off dip but I just really liked the taste.

My Dad quit dipping back in '92 when I was born and he said to stock up on gum and seeds so I did that after class today. Oh and if you're looking for a good seed look for Jim Beam Barbecue or Jalapeño. (I find them in Speedway in Indiana) I've spit a lot of seeds in my baseball playing days and Jim Beam knocks Davids out of the park. (see what I did there)

I've wanted to stop for about a year now and I've just kept putting it off...one excuse includes "Well, I have college finials coming up and I don't want the problem." Last night I had my last dip and I finally said "I'm done." I'm tired of my gums receding, bad breath, yellowing teeth, and the freaking cost is out of my college budget to be honest.

My first day went ok. I keep busy with school but since I've been home my brain is all weird...So if this entry is worded strange it's because I'm pretty foggy.

Thanks for your time,

Larry

*Note: I'm quitting for myself nobody else. I will keep posting!

Awesome dude. Starve nicotine out now before she takes you on a 30 year ride. Trust me the longer you dip the harder it is to quit.nicotine has no health benefits it will only harm you and take every bit of self respect you have. This is the place to be if your serious about quitting.
Post roll with your group and get to know some guys it'll make it easier when you really need somebody to talk you down. Pm me if you need anything. You got this man. You'll have a helluva story someday.

Larry,

I noticed you have but one post, the post to your introduction. Post roll here everyday. You will do that by first reading this, http://forum.killthecan.org/forum/55560/ and then follow the directions. Repeat daily.

Day 2

Thanks for the response guys! Today went ok all in all. I didn't sleep too bad last night and was ok mentally until around noon when I would take my after lunch dip. But I kept on walking through the fog. I think school is helping because I usually won't dip in class or when I'm in the library so it makes it easy to say away from it I guess. The only thing that is really pissing me off is how slow I am cognitively right now...It took me almost an hour in a half to do something that should have taken like 45 min...

Can anyone help me out and tell me where I exactly post roll? I get how to do it I just don't know where on the site. (I could have completely missed it.....I blame the fog.)

Thanks,

Larry Mangano

Larry if my math is right you are 22. Quick word of advice is guys your age don't last here often. If it had to guess they underestimate their addiction. There can be no exceptions to your quit if you want it to be successful. Take your quit seriously and you can avoid the decades of abuse guys like me had. Good luck.

Yes sir I am 22. Don't we all think we are bulletproof when we are young? The big C runs heavy in my family so I think it's about time I grow up.

Day 3

Today was much of the same. I spent most of my day in class and in the library. I feel as though I'm starting to walk out of the fog a little....I'm having moments of extreme clarity. My only complaint for today is that my throat is a little sore.
