Post HOF Fallout

I've been post HOF for some time now. Since then, I have seen a lot of people leave the site for many reasons, such as boredom, monotony and cockiness that they can do this own their own after so much time. Some come back crawling because they've caved, while some have actually been successful at staying quit. Either way, when most people leave, it is a loss to this site.

Why do people become bored? Mostly because they fail to make, what I see, is a critical change post HOF. Although we preach and teach brotherhood on this site, during your first 100 days of quit, most of your focus is on you. Yes, you do build relationships and help other brothers out with their quits, but a lot more people are helping to guide you through.

The critical change I feel you must make is going from "me focus" to "other focus". You need to remember what it was like and have some sympathy for the new guys in the trenches fighting the battle of their lives. You need to get in there, support, have their backs, build more relationships and celebrate "their" victories.

When you do that, your quit will be stronger and you'll keep coming back for more. Keep focusing on yourself, only posting roll and you will become bored, possibly leaving the site. Then, away from the site, the tools, the relationships, the drive and passion, you may just let your guard down and believe the lie yet again.

Are you past HOF and becoming bored? Make the change and go help others. They need it and so do you.

A Quit Plan: Do you have one?

CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it’s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit.
After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco. SportDad 1/13/05

Warm summer sun, shine kindly here;
Warm southern wind, blow softly here;
Green sod above, lie light, lie light.-
Good-night, dear heart, good-night.

Be silly, be honest, be kind
