I have decided to quit; First day will be tomorrow

I've decided that I'm going to quit chewing tobacco. I'm tired of worrying about cancer, checking my gums, itchy skin, not sleeping well....but most importantly I'm tired of not trusting myself. I hate always being worried about it and then feeling like I've let myself and family down when I do it again.

I know I have to do this 100%. I need to get names and phone numbers of guys to call because I know it's going to be hell for those first 72 hours and then hell for the first 3 weeks. I've read a lot of the posts from the Hall of Fame and you guys sound just like me. Some of our backgrounds are different but the commonality of our dipping problem is the same.

So, with that, I'd like to make contact with some people on this site to help me along the way. Thanks.

OK, James, it all SOUNDS good....except the whole crap about starting TOMORROW. BS. Either you are ready now or you aren't really ready to commit to the quit. Which is it? Go dump whatever cans you have in the toilet and flush 'em. Get rid of any other nicotine you have and then come back on here and tell us again that you are ready to quit...STARTING TODAY.

AND DO NOT YET COMPARE YOURSELF TO ANYONE IN THE HOF...NOT UNTIL YOU SIGN ROLL AND MAKE A PROMISE TO EVERYONE ON HERE THAT YOU WILL NOT DIP FOR THE DAY.

When you decide to actually quit, my number...and support...are yours for the asking.
Blah...Blah...Blah...You keep TALKIN....I'll keep QUITTIN

I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to support YOUR quit.

What the fuck does tomorrow have to do with quitting. We do it 1 day at a time. Dump the can and cancel that marathon dipping session you have planned for tonight trying to get that 1 final perfect dip....guess what my friend, it does not exist.
Remember, 1 dip is too much and all the dip in the world is not enough.

Be a man and quit right now, go to the Oct group and post roll call.
Being quit is like so much better than not being quit.

oooooohhh, I'll help James, you just sit back and relax and we'll quit for you. Thats right, just click those ruby slippers and repeat after me...

I wish I could, I hope I can, I'm gonna try....

there you go, What? It didn't work? oh yeah , I forgot, YOU have to do your own quit, we can't do it for you. It's really not that hard, just put the fucking can down, and leave it there. Nobody is gonna put that shit in your mouth but you.

By the way the guys here don't have a tobacco problem, they were man enough to quit,- you my friend have a tobacco problem. Apparently you have a calender problem as well, because more than one tomorrow seems to have come and gone.

and the band plays Janes Addiction in the backround

" Gonna quit tomorrow"

There is no tomorrow numb nuts, there is only now.

"CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it’s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit. After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco."

You gotta just do it! i'm on day four and its already a lot better, I don't care how bad it is, I can work through anything!
