howdy all,
i'm a born again quitter from texas. i quit a couple years ago while living abroad due mainly to the fact that they don't sell snuff in most parts of europe. funny story, i actually left my only can in the bathroom of the plane on my way over right after departure. needless to say, that was a horrible day, indeed. after a day or so, though, i began to feel, think, and act differently. i wasn't worried about where my nic fix would come from. i began running again and living life fully. once i moved back home months later i began dipping again, and have for the past few years. but i know that there is no time but now for me to cease once and for all. all your support is greatly appreciated.

So.. sounds like you've got some experience quitting. You've done the hard part before... quitting. Now it's time to master the hardER part... staying quit.

You've taken the crucial first step... getting registered and being on the boards. Read everything that you can. Ask questions, and get involved. This site can be the difference between quitting and failing.

Also... we tend to be a little "rough around the edges"... it's only cause we care.

Welcome to the site

I see you have posted your name in roll call. Make sure you understand the significance of that. Once if you look at the bottom of the roll call you will see I gave my promise to you as well. That is how it works. You keep your word and I will keep mine.

As far as encouragement, great decision !! You are gaining your freedom. I will not blow smoke up your ass, it is going to SUCK. Get some seeds, gum, straws, candy, toothpicks and get ready. Drink plenty of water it helps you detox.

While you are riding out the suck Read, Read, Read !!!
It's not that some people have willpower and some don't... It's that some people are ready to change and others are not.

NEVER AGAIN !!

Welcome to October. Every morning when I post roll, I am making a promise that I will be tobacco free that day. I make that promise to myself, and to you. I expect the same.

Let's do this, one dip free day at a time.

You can do this.

Nicotine doesn't give two shits about your strategery, and that's just a fact. Only strategy that works is promise not to use nicotine first thing every morning, keep that promise all day, rinse, repeat. - teamgreen

There will be many temptations along the way. And craves. And triggers. That's why you are here. At the next bar-b-q when someone whips out a can of Kodiak, you will remember that, "I'm a a badass quitter and today I posted roll and promised not to use tobacco". that's how it works.

Post roll first thing every day !!! Get in the habit now and it takes dipping off the table first thing each day !
