Today makes 5 days without a dip. I am using a nicotine gum, but it is getting annoying. I keep thinking to myself that maybe I can bum a dip off of someone and not but a can. I know that this is the chew talking and trying to get me back into it's grip.... Does the mint snuff (fake stuff) help or is it better to just go dry?

Use whatever you need to if it keeps the real crap out of your mouth. I was partial to plain old gum. A bunch of other quitters use(d) the fake crap, some for quite a while. No harm in that. Link--->Here is a list of different kinds and a review.<---Link.

I would recommend getting rid of the nic gum. This is just my humble opinion, but you are only procrastinating the nic withdrawals. I tried quitting a bunch of times and this time I went cold turkey. I am as far into a quit as I have ever made it at 127 days. Speaking of my quit, this site is a huge part of that too. Figure out which group you belong to and post roll. Make the promise to yourself each day to make that day tobacco free.

The mint flavored fake stuff is actually good. I enjoyed the Smokey Mountain Chew and it's held me out. If you want to feel like you've got something in your mouth, go for that fake chew. But, get rid of the gum and don't cave!
